□ The Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST, President Seung Hyeon Moon) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on December 6, 2017, with Hangul Computer Group (Chairman Sang-cheol Kim), which is an R & D centered company on artificial intelligence for the fourth industrial revolution, to cooperate on science and technology research for a smart city as well as age-friendly industries, healthcare robots, and national defense and security.
□ The MoU signing ceremony was attended by President Seung Hyeon Moon, Professor Kiseon Kim, Professor Moon Sang Kim, Vice President of Hangul Computer Group Sang-hun Lee, Myung-sup Jang, and others.
∘ Hangul Computer Group executives also attended "The 1st International Security Science and Technology Workshop" held at GIST on the same afternoon and firmly committed themselves to actual research cooperation with GIST.
□ GIST President Seung Hyeon Moon said, "With the cooperation agreement with Hangul Computer Group, we will combine the artificial intelligence related technologies of both organizations. We hope that this project will serve as a new leap forward for the creation of AI-based science and technology campus and start-up town in the era of the fourth industrial revolution through excellent human and research exchanges."
