□ The Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST, President Seung Hyeon Moon) celebrated its 24th anniversary on November 17, 2017, and presented the '2017 GIST Research Achievement Exhibition' for three days starting on November 23, 2017.
□ This exhibition, jointly organized by the GIST Research Institute (GRI), which oversees research organizations of GIST, and the GIST Technology Institute (GTI), a professional organization for start-up and technology commercialization.
∘ Achievements and projects produced by GIST students, prototypes, and research institutes will be displayed in the lobby of the Oryong Hall. Representative work of GIST, including artificial intelligence-based media facade mapping technology, smart window, artificial skin for makeup, glass-based virtual reality, and artificial skin for non-toxic environmentally-friendly costumes.
∘ 'INGE Presentations' were held in order to train future leaders in science and engineering, and the presentations were also held on the students' 'Infinite Challenge Project', and the 'GIST Science School' for elementary, middle, and high school students who are interested in science.
∘ The 'Science and Culture Experience Event' was held inside and outside of Oryong Hall and provided various interesting programs, such as drone programing, robot experiences, and observing the sky.
□ GIST President Seung Hyeon Moon said, "For GIST to take a leap forward as an educational and research institute for humanity, it is necessary to develop new technologies for society by fusing innovative research, such as superior technology and artificial intelligence. This will contribute to the economic and industrial development of Gwangju and the Jeonnam region, as well as the world and humanity."
