Amotech Co., Ltd., donates 30 million won to the GIST Global Hope Water Purification Fund
□ The Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST, President Seung Hyeon Moon) has announced the donation of 30 million won from Amotech Co., Ltd., (Chairman Pyung Kyu Kim) to the GIST Global Hope Water Purification Fund.
∘ GIST President Seung Hyeon Moon and Dean of International and Public Affairs Yong Chul Kim visited Amotech's Cheonan factory and corporate facilities on July 18, 2017, and held a donation ceremony that was attended by about 10 people, including employees.
∘ Amotech Co., Ltd. is the lead company of AMO Group, which is led by Pyung Kyu Kim, with affiliates such as Amogreen Tech Co., Ltd., Amosense Co., Ltd., and Amore Life Science Co.
□ Amotech Chairman Pyung Kyu Kim said, "We are sympathetic to GIST Global Hope Water Purification Fund as a way to help improve the health and welfare of people living in underdeveloped countries who do not have access to clean drinking water. Assisting these social welfare projects reflects the corporate spirit of the AMO Group."
□ GIST Presdient Seung Hyeon said, "GIST will further expand the creative value to businesses based on innovative technologies, such as the Hope Water Purifier, for the benefit of the nation and humanity." The donated funds will be used to distribute water purifiers through the GIST International Environmental Research Institute.
