GIST receives 10 million won from the Soil Environment Lab
□ Professor Kyoung-Woong Kim of the Soil Environment Lab at the School of Earth Sciences and Environmental Engineering has donated 10 million won to the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST, President Seung Hyeon Moon on July 13, 2017.
∘ Professor Kyoung-Woong Kim graduated from Seoul National University and Imperial College. He became a professor at GIST in 1997.
□ A donation ceremony for the GIST Development Fund was held on the 5th floor of the main administrative office on July 13, 2017, which was attended by about 10 people, including GIST staff and faculty members.
□ Professor Kyoung-Woong Kim said, " I had thought that it would be a good idea to participate in the Hope Water Purifier business together with the External Cooperation Agency. I have always found a way to give thanks to the school and I am glad that I am relieved of the burden on this occasion. We plan to do more to promote the successful water purifier campaign in the future."
□ Dr. Soon-oh Kim, a representative of the alumni association, said, "Former members of the Soil Environment Lab have joined together to support the good intention of the global 'Hope Water Purifier' project that is being promoted by Professor Kyoung-Woong Kim." The donated funds will be used for the GIST water purifier campaign.
