Professor Sang-Don Kim selected as the 17th President of the Environmental Toxicology Society
□ Professor Sang-Don Kim of the School of Earth Sciences and Environmental Engineering at the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST, President Seung Hyeon) was elected as the 17th President of the Environmental Toxicology Society.
□ Established in 1985, the Environmental Toxicology Society is a key academic organization in the field of environmental toxic health in Korea. Currently, more than 1,000 individuals and institutions are active members.
∘ The Environmental Toxicology Society has been working closely with academia, government, and civic organizations to protect the public health from harmful environmental factors. Recently, leading cause identification and countermeasures have been suggested to respond to humidifier chemical accidents.
□ Professor Sang-Don Kim has been a member of the board of directors and vice chairman of the Environmental Toxicology Society. He is currently the chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Asia-Pacific Environmental Toxicology Conference (SETAC-AP) that will be held in Daegu in September 2018 .
∘ In addition, Professor Kim has been working as a large chemical research group since 2016 and is developing government policies and accident response technology.
□ As the 17th president of the Environmental Toxicology Society, Professor Kim will hold that office for two years from January 2018 to December 2019.
