Professor Jung Won Yoon was selected as a co-editor for Transactions on Mechatronics

□ Professor Jung Won Yoon of the Institute of Integrated Technology at the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST, President Seung Hyeon Moon) was selected as a co-editor Transactions on Mechatronics, which is published by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).

∘ Transactions on Mechatronics is published bimonthly and covers the field of mechatronics, which covers technology that is the basis of intelligent robots and various automation industrial equipment. This journal (as of 2016) has an impact factor of 4.357, which is among the top 3% in the field of machinery and the top 10% of scientific journals.

□ For the next three years, Professor Jung Won Yoon will help the journal with reviewing and publishing articles related to medical robots, rehabilitation robots, optimal robot design, and nanobiotechnology.

□ Professor Yoon received his Ph.D. in 2005 from GIST and ETRI (Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute). He was appointed to the GIST Institute of Integrated Technology in 2017 through the National University of Gyeongsang National University and has published 60 SCI-level papers in the field of rehabilitation robots and medical robots. He has 20 registered patents or pending patent applications. He is also an associate editor of Frontiers in Robotics and AI.
