GIST Alumnus Professor Bayarbaatar Amgalan becomes
an
associate professor at the National University of Mongolia
Professor Bayarbaatar Amgalan, a graduate of GIST"s School
of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, was became an associate
professor at the National University of Mongolia in the School of Mathematics
and Computer Science in September 2016.
Professor Amgalan, whose advisor was Professor Hyunju Lee,
wrote a paper on the identification of cancer-related gene regulation networks
based on optimization methodology and received his Ph.D. in August 2015. Professor
Amgalan entered the doctoral program at GIST in 2011 after a memorandum of
understanding was signed between GIST and the National University of Mongolia
in 2010 to identify conditions specific biological subnetworks and to identify
genes for cancer-causing mutations.
In recent years, researchers have focused on research on
developing a mathematical methodology to identify cancer-related genes and to
clarify the mechanism of cancer by using methods optimized for various vital
information.
