The first GIST Climate Change Academy graduation ceremony was held at Oryong Hall on July 6, 2016, at Oryong Hall. More than 60 people attended the ceremony in which certificates and awards were presented to the graduating participants of the GIST Climate Change Academy, which was started in response to last December"s Paris Convention on Climate Change.
The GIST Climate Change Academy was taught by expert instructors from the United Nations Scientific Advisory Committee and from GIST with the intention of education local government and business leaders on the impact that climate change will have on society and the economy so that they can make better policy decisions for the future.
Chaired Professor Sung-An Hong of GIST Fusion Technology was invited to speak at the graduation ceremony about the feasibility of sustainable energy.
GIST President Seung Hyeon Moon ALSO expressed his gratitude to all of the graduating participants of the GIST Climate Change Academy who have demonstrated so such concern and passion for the environment. He hopes that the academy will develop further with all of the momentum and support generated from the first class of graduates.
