GIST will collaborate with Kenya on water monitoring technologies
GIST President Seung Hyeon Moon visited Africa with Korean President Geun-Hye Park’s party. On May 31, 2016, President Moon signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with University of Nairobi President Vijoo Rattansithe.
GIST International Institute for Environmental Studies plans to conduct a survey of Kenya’s environmental issues and will propose joint projects to find feasible solutions.
GIST will also help to educate officials who are responsible for monitoring Kenya"s water quality control system.
62,000 students attend University of Nairobi, which also offers Korean language classes.
President Moon said, “Kenya is a model for African development as it is promoting economic growth through science, technology, and communications. We hope to collaborate and offer our experience in science and technology research and education through a variety of collaborative projects to further contribute to the development of the University of Nairobi and the rest of Kenya.”
