Acting President Kwan Heng Lee of GIST has been elected a full member of the National Academy of Engineering of Korea (NAEK).
Acting President Lee received his Ph.D. degree from North Carolina State University in 1988 and taught in the United States until 1994. Since arriving in GIST School of Mechatronics in 1995, Acting President Lee has been playing an active role in the nation’s research and education in Computer Aided Design and Manufacturing (CAD/CAM).
In addition, Acting President Lee made a large contribution to the development of a gifted education system in science and technology in Korea. After the law to establish GIST College was passed by the National Assembly in 2008, Acting President Lee served as its inaugural dean and led the curriculum design and the overall operations of the new undergraduate program for four years.
