A multimedia mosaic of moments at GIST
The Grand Prix of the 11st Environment and Science Olympiad: Jemin Lee (sophomore at Gyeongnam Science High School) -(Identification of micro-pollution by nitrogenous pollutants in the 1st and 2nd grade water using extra eyespots of planaria) Jemin Lee, 17, sophomore at Gyeongnam Science High School, won the Environment Minister"s Award, which is the Grand Prix of the 11st Environment and Science Olympiad organized by the School of Environmental Science and Engineering (Dean: Gyeongwoong Kim) of the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST, President: Jungho Sonu). In April, the olympiad received proposals for environmental research projects from 1st and 2nd grade students in high schools nationwide. Among 60 entries, qualified 10 proposals have received research funds. The students have conducted research for seven months and gave oral and poster presentations on November 19.
