GIST, from the core science and technology institute to the missionary of love for the local communities

-GIST, reborn as the local-friendly public institute through regional cooperation activities-

GIST is running the "GIST Learning" program which will mark its 4th anniversary this July. 35 science talents studying in GIST are providing pro bono "knowledge provision volunteer work" to 139 low income family students, jointly with 14 regional children centers.

In addition, GIST is running "GIST Science Camp" for low income class students, and is also relentlessly seeking measures to contribute to local communities by donating science books and equipments to elementary schools and by communicating with the local communities.

President Jungho Sonu of GIST is who is most active in this local cooperation project. President Sonu said "It is also the major role for GIST to fulfil its social responsibilities as a public institute as well as leading the development of national science and technology", and that "GIST will become a role model for growing together with the local people through local cooperation projects".
