- Assemblyman Young-A Park makes all out efforts for the long time dream of the science and technology field
Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology(GIST, president: Jung Ho Sonu) announced that it is working on introducing a UNU research training program (UNU-RTC/Ps, Research & Training Center/Programme). To this end, on November 22, 2010, at Chosun Hotel, GIST president Jung Ho Sonu exchanged letters of intent with assemblyman Yong-A Park(Grand National Party, Songpa-gap); 2nd vice-minister Chang Kyung Kim of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology; and president Konrad Osterwalder of UN University. Legislator Young-A Park emphasized the effects of the decision saying that "if UNU-RTP is established in GIST, due to the characteristics of UNU, various advanced studies and excellent researchers will come to Korea, and much exchanges will be made with excellent human resources of developing countries. Also during that process, Korean science and technology human resources will also participate in various international cooperative programs, constituting a world-class academic network."
