Professor Yong-Joo Doh receives the Applied Physics Academic Award from the Korean Physical Society

□ Professor Yong-Joo Doh of the GIST Department of Physics and Photon Science has received the Applied Physics Award from the Korean Physical Society. The awards ceremony was held on April 19, 2017, during the Spring Meeting of the Korean Physical Society, which was also the society's 93rd regular general meeting.
□ Professor Yong-Joo Doh has developed various ultra-high current transistors by using low-dimensional nanostructures, and he has developed the world's first macroscopic quantum transmission phenomenon that can be controlled by a gate in a nanosecond current transistor device. He has also been recognized as a contributor to the development of the Applied Physics Division of the Korean Physical Society by serving as an academic and steering committee member, and he has served as ICAMD's organizer and program committee members (2011 - 2017) as well as ICAMD-2015 publishing chairman.

□ The Applied Physics Academic Award was also received by Professor Tae Woo Lee of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Seoul National University.
