Professor Lee, Jae Suk of School of Materials Science and Engineering wins 1st LG Chemicals Researcher Award - Contribution to advancing research on polymer synthesis … wins the honor to become the first award-winner at the general assembly of The Polymer Society of Korea □ Professor Lee, Jae Suk of School of Materials Science and Engineering at Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST, President Young Joon Kim) won the 1st LG Chemicals Researcher Award by The Polymer Society of Korea (Chairman Lee, Doo Sung). ❍ The Polymer Society of Korea established LG Chemicals Researcher Award this year to congratulate research findings of its members who made prominent research accomplishments in polymer synthesis, polymer engineering and polymer physics and chemistry, and encourage their passion for research. □ The Polymer Society of Korea convened general assembly, which is held every autumn, at Changwon Exhibition Convention Center in Changwon, Gyeongsangnam-do on Oct. 10th and awarded LG Chemicals Researcher Award to Professor Lee. □ Professor Lee who joined GIST in 1994 has focused his research on anionic polymerization of icocyanate and identified living character of (character of not losing polymerization activation) poly-icocyanate, which is a protein-like polymer, for the first time in the world. ❍ Professor Lee is also involved in applied studies related to electrolyte that can be adopted to nano materials, polymer LED, polymer non-volatile memory, fuel cell and water treatment, which is contributing to their commercialization.
