The Kumho-Asiana Group donated a research building and super computer facilities to the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology on November 2, 2006.
The Kumho-Asiana Group donated a research building built in 1996, with the name being changed from ‘Kumho Information and Communication Research’ to the ‘Kumho Research Center.’ Additionally, the Kumho-Asiana Group donated a super computer and network facilities. GIST will utilize the super computer for administrative system processes.
According to a Kumho-Asiana Group representative, “We support GIST, the institution which produces highly qualified scientists and cutting edge scientific technology by permanently donating a 4-story research building and super computer. We will continue support and mutual collaboration between Kumho-Asiana Group and GIST.”
