GIST fosters the development of future leaders in science and technology equipped with broad knowledge and the 3C1P competencies across its four colleges.

  • Courses in the humanities and social sciences are offered in both Korean and English, with a selection of courses available in English each semester.

Curriculum​

  • Freshman Year: Challenge & Exploration Program in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences (No Major Declared)
    • Newly admitted students spend their first year in the Challenge & Exploration Program, where they complete an interdisciplinary curriculum in mathematics, natural sciences, humanities, and social sciences. This foundation year is designed to build the core competencies expected of future leaders in science and technology and to prepare students for major declaration and cross-disciplinary learning and innovation.
  • Sophomore to Senior Years: Major, Double Major, or Minor
    • Beginning at the end of the first year, students who have completed at least two regular semesters or earned 30 or more credits are eligible to declare a major in one of the undergraduate departments, in accordance with the official major declaration schedule announced each semester. Students may also pursue a double major or a minor, subject to GIST’s academic regulations on eligibility, declaration periods, and graduation requirements.
