□ The Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST, President Seung Hyeon Moon) has conducted the 2018 Disaster Response Training for Korea over three days from May 15 to 17, 2018, with a local hospital and related agencies.
∘ This training started at 7:00 AM on the 15th with a mock emergency alert and included and CPR training, laboratory safety training, GIST safety workshops, and toxic gas and chemical leaks training.
□ In particular, the toxic gas and chemical leak training was conducted jointly with related agencies and involved field training that included simulating possible emergency situations at GIST.
∘ For this training, GIST, the Special Rescue Group 119, and the Yeongsangang River Basin Environment Agency jointly conducted a drill to save lives by reporting and clearing toxic gases and chemicals.
□ GIST Vice President Hor-Gil Hur said, "This training was a good opportunity to check our accident response system, and it was also a valuable experience that helped to raise the safety consciousness of our community."
