Gwangju Ko Society donates 120 million won to the GIST Development Fund

□ The Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST, President Seung Hyeon Moon) announced that the Gwangju Ko Society  has donated 120 million won to the GIST Development Fund to provide scholarships for deserving low-income students.

∘ Fifteen members of the Gwangju Ko Society visited GIST on July 25, 2017, to tour GIST's campus and major research facilities, including the Research Institute for Solar and Sustainable Energies, and a donation ceremony was held with President Moon.

□ Chairman Jung-joo Ko of the Gwangju Ko Society said, "We are very proud of GIST, which is leading the development of the Korean society as well as the local community and the world by cultivating talented people in the fields of advanced science and technology. So we are also very proud to provide scholarships to students through our donation."

□ GIST President Moon said, "GIST has become a scientific and technological engine that has contributed to regional and national development, and the generous scholarships provided by the Gwangju Ko Society will be used to benefit students with economic difficulties who have dreams of becoming great scientists."
