Professor Wonil Choi wins the Kim Jae-il psychology award

□ GIST College Professor Wonil Choi of the General Studies Division won the Kim Jae-il prize from the Korean Psychological Association for his research. The awards ceremony was held on August 18 at the 2017 Annual Conference of the Korean Psychological Association, which was its 71st Annual General Meeting.
∘ Professor Choi published a study entitled "Effects of word predictability and preview lexicality during eye movements during reading" that has shown the elderly can effectively combine top-down and bottom-up information during the reading process.
∘ Professor Choi was selected as a 2017 award recipient because his research will contribute to the development of the Korean Psychological Association.
□ The Kim Jae-il award is given to a young psychologists who contribute to the development of the society. Candidates are nominated through each subcommittee, and the winner is determined by the Korean Psychological Association Honorary and Ethics Committee and the Board of Trustees.
