Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) is designed to provide international students with opportunities to study at higher education institutions in Korea. The scholarship aims to enhance international education exchange and strengthen mutual friendship between Korea and participating countries.

1. Submission Date for Application

Documents submission of 1^st Round of Selection (University Track): By 31st(Fri) March, 2023.

If you apply for the GKS program through the designated university track.

4. Mandatory document for applying GIST

An Official English Proficiency Test Score Report (Univ. Track and Embassy Track)

English is the language of instruction at GIST and success in graduate study depends on English language competency.

- Minimum scores: 80(TOEFL iBT), 550(TOEFL PBT), 6.5(Academic IELTS), 750(TOEIC), 285(NEW TEPS).

- Tests must be taken within two years before the deadline date.

- Only original copies will be accepted.

- For IELTS only, photocopies will be accepted.

- Our institution code for ETS is 0144.

- Conditional Admissions (Extended of Deadline for English Proficiency Test Score Report)

: Submit the Certificate of English Proficiency if you want to apply under the conditional admission.

※ Any students admitted to the Institute with conditional admission (who does not have an English score report at the point of application period), within 6 months from the date of admission, submit official English test results that meet the application criteria of the Institute. These results should be submitted to the Section of Graduate Admissions and receive approval from Academic Affairs Committee. Any persons who has conditionally admitted to the Institute, but fail to fulfill the requirements stated above, will automatically be removed from the school register 7 months after the date of admission.

※ The deadline of an official English Proficiency Test Score for Conditional Admission 

(2023 GKS successful candidate should submit it by Feb. 28(Fri.), 2025 in case of the degree program starts in 2024 Fall Semester)                              

 

5. Remarks 

o   Please follow all guidelines of NIIED regarding the eligibility, document requirements, and other conditions on the application for GKS.

o    Certificates should be presented either the apostille certificates or the consular attestation to apply for GIST through GKS.
